An important solution for energy independence
The use of depleted reservoirs from our own production to store third-party gas is a way to support Brazil in achieving energy security and independence. The favorable location of the Alagoas Hub facilitates the flow and storage of pre-salt gas, as well as gas produced in offshore operations in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin.
In the Alagoas Hub alone, we provide the country with the capacity to store:
m³ of gas/day
Brazil’s daily consumption
The United States has a storage capacity of about 133 billion cubic meters per day, while Europe has one trillion cubic meters storage capacity per day.
MARKET REGULATION: it is possible to regulate supply and demand, as well as pricing for distributors and, consequently, for the end consumers – society.
DID YOU KNOW?
Origem Energia has an integrated infrastructure that allows for Carbon Capture and Underground Storage of CO2. There is the possibility of storing carbon dioxide emissions from our Energy Generation Park, so that, these are not released into the atmosphere. This practice, already carried out in other countries, is not yet regulated in Brazil.
