PIONEERING ROLE: SELF-OWNED TELECOM INFRASTRUCTURE

Origem Energia is the first independent onshore energy and infrastructure company to have its own telephony and broadband internet network.

With the creation of its private LTE (Long Term Evolution) network, Origem ensures a significant technological advancement in telecommunications necessary to provide the speed that information requires throughout the process. It is an innovative project in Brazilian onshore technology aligned with the best cybersecurity practices.

The private network covers operations in the Alagoas and Tucano Sul (Bahia) regions. In Alagoas, there’s radio base station equipment in five towers, with an average height of 50 meters, located in the operation units of Pilar, Furado, Paru, P-16 and São Miguel dos Campos. In Bahia, five towers will be located in the regions of Catu, Panelas, Quererá, Conceição and Matinha, within the perimeter of the Tucano Sul Hub.

With this technology, Origem now makes more extensive use of the Internet of Things (IoT) to optimize well automation; asset surveillance (wells, other assets and employees); employee health and safety; well prospecting (spectrometry); security (leak detection); and predictive maintenance.
